In 1959, acclaimed, worldly writer Truman Capote travels down to Kansas to use the cold-blooded murder of a farming family as a starting point for a new kind of reportage writing that, four years later, will yield his non-fiction best-seller In Cold Blood. Good-looking biopic of Truman Capote that, despite its many qualities among which a few excellent performances (including a remarkable lead), is made pointless and redundant by the earlier, award-winning Capote, that covers the same ground in a statelier manner (in fact, both films were shot concurrently, but Capote beat Infamous to the screen, forcing a year-long delay in its release).
