Superman

(Great Britain/USA, 1978, 143 minutes)

The sole survivor of the distant planet Krypton grows up on Earth possessing super-powers and finds his destiny to be a fighter for justice. Impressive comic-book adventure that sets up the Superman mythology on the big screen as well as it can be set up but, after an excellent first hour, settles into just another seventies disaster movie with a far too humorous tone.
