The Invasion

(USA, 2007, 96 minutes)

A Washington psychiatrist suspects something is not right when, after a space shuttle crashes on reentry, everyone around her seems to start behaving emotionlessly. Soulless remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers with a history of production troubles, where a number of interesting creative ideas get lost in formulaic, by-the-book action film routines; after early preview screenings, the studio reshot extensive sections of the film under the supervision of Matrix writer-directors Andy & Larry Wachowski. Jack Finney's original novel was previously filmes as Invasion of the Body Snatchers, in 1956 by Don Siegel with Kevin McCarthy and Dana Wynter, then in 1978 by Philip Kaufman with Donald Sutherland and Brooke Adams; and as Body Snatchers in 1993 by Abel Ferrara with Gabrielle Anwar and Terry Kinney.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents in association with Village Roadshow Pictures a Silver Pictures production in association with Vertigo Entertainment. Starring Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig, Jeremy Northam, Jackson Bond; and Jeffrey Wright.
