Woyzeck

(West Germany, 1976, 80 minutes)

A lowly soldier being experimented on by the regiment's doctor becomes insanely jealous of his prostitute girlfriend when he finds she's been sleeping with the drum major. Relatively straightforward presentation of a celebrated unfinished play that is turned by its director into a scathing satire of social warfare.
